Borradh is a joint initiative from Údarás na Gaeltachta and Skillnet Innovation Exchange created to accelerate innovation across the Gaeltacht. Businesses can access solutions to digital, operational and sustainability challenges, while innovative companies can engage with new customers and commercial opportunities.
Taking its name from the Irish word Borradh, meaning growth, momentum and expansion, the initiative aims to help businesses innovate and compete in an increasingly digital economy.

More Than a Marketplace
Borradh is more than a marketplace for innovation. Alongside the challenge programme, participants can access networking events and practical upskilling programmes designed to help businesses understand emerging technologies, build innovation capability and identify new commercial opportunities.
Upskilling and training events will take place throughout the gteic hubs giving easy access to companies supported by Udaras na Gaeltachta.
The initiative will also explore opportunities to harness digital innovation in support of the Irish language, encouraging the development of technologies and digital tools that strengthen the everyday use of Irish across Gaeltacht communities.
How It Works
Through Borradh, Údarás na Gaeltachta works with businesses to define their innovation challenge before connecting them with Skillnet Innovation Exchange’s nationwide network of innovative solution providers.
A structured call for solutions is issued to the innovation marketplace, inviting members with relevant expertise and technologies to respond. Following an evaluation process, the most suitable providers are shortlisted and introduced to the organisation.
The result is an efficient, low-risk way for businesses to explore the innovation marketplace while giving innovative SMEs direct access to genuine commercial opportunities.
