Swim Ireland is the National Governing Body for swimming, water polo, diving, and other aquatic disciplines across all 32 counties of Ireland.
Currently swimming race analysis remains a manual process, whereby an analyst must manually timestamp points in time using race video to calculate and generate a race analysis report. Several nations have worked to address this and have developed bespoke systems to automatically generate race analysis metrics, but none have chosen to make their product commercially available.The project aims to develop a hardware and software solution that can automatically capture relevant race footage and process this footage to generate race reports. The software will endeavour to be capable of accurately identifying splits that are currently manually timestamped and then converting the timestamps to the range of race report metrics that currently constitute a thorough race analysis.
